Common Use
Uroxatral (alfuzosin) is an alpha-blocker used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate. It works by blocking alpha-adrenergic receptors in the lower urinary tract, relaxing the smooth muscles in the bladder neck and prostate to improve urine flow and reduce BPH symptoms.
Dosage and Direction
Use Uroxatral exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Take it orally once daily with the same meal each day.
Do not split, crush, chew, or break the tablet — swallow it whole.

This medicine may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or lightheadedness. Avoid alcohol and rise slowly from sitting or lying positions.
Avoid hazardous tasks (e.g., driving) until you know how Uroxatral affects you.
