Generic Cialis

Common Use
Cialis is an effective, reversible, and selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which acts on cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). During sexual stimulation, nitric oxide is released locally, and Cialis inhibits PDE5, increasing cGMP levels in the penile cavernous tissue. This causes relaxation of arterial smooth muscles and improves blood flow, resulting in an erection. Cialis only works when sexual stimulation is present. It can act within 16 minutes and the effect may last up to 36 hours, allowing successful sexual intercourse during this period.

Dosage and Direction
The recommended dose is 20 mg taken at least 16 minutes before sexual activity.

The effect lasts for up to 36 hours.

Take Cialis only once daily and do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Precautions
Avoid grapefruit juice, alcohol, and tobacco while using Cialis.

Tobacco combined with Cialis may lead to NAION (sudden vision loss due to optic nerve damage).

Inform your doctor if you have a history of:

Abnormal penis conditions (e.g., curved penis, birth defects)

Coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, angina, heart attack, or heart failure

Low or high blood pressure

Bleeding disorders or stomach ulcers

Diabetes or hyperlipidemia

Sickle-cell anemia

Liver or kidney failure

Contraindications
Do not use Cialis if you are taking any form of organic nitrates (regularly or intermittently) because it can cause dangerous low blood pressure.

Possible Side Effects
Common side effects include:

Facial flushing (reddening)

Headaches

Stomach upset

Diarrhea

Flu-like symptoms

Nausea

Less common but serious side effects:

Low blood pressure

Blurred or changed color vision

Abnormal ejaculation

Prolonged erections or priapism (erection lasting more than 6 hours) — seek immediate medical help if erection lasts longer than 4 hours to avoid permanent damage

Worsening of heart conditions in patients with pre-existing heart disease

Drug Interactions
Avoid co-administration with organic nitrates (e.g., Erythrityl Tetranitrate, Isosorbide Dinitrate/Mononitrate, Nitroglycerin, Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate) due to risk of severe hypotension.

Cialis levels and toxicity can increase with erythromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, indinavir, ritonavir.

Inform your doctor if you are taking medications like Atazanavir, Bunazosin, Clarithromycin, Doxazosin, Erythromycin, Indinavir, Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, Moxisylyte, Nefazodone, Nelfinavir, Phenoxybenzamine, Phentolamine, Prazosin, Saquinavir, Telithromycin, Terazosin, Trimazosin, or Urapidil as dose adjustments may be necessary.

Missed Dose
Cialis is used as needed for erectile dysfunction, so missed doses are not typically applicable.

Overdose
Symptoms of overdose are similar to side effects.

Seek immediate medical attention if you believe you have taken too much.

Storage
Store at room temperature, away from moisture, sunlight, children, and pets, in a tightly closed container.
